Project 02

Chaplain Recruiting Website & Graphic Design

A comprehensive branding and web design initiative created to meet a critical need within the U.S. Army Chaplain Recruiting mission. While the official goArmy website offered only basic chaplaincy information, it lacked the depth, clarity, and guidance that aspiring chaplains truly needed. Recognizing this gap, I took it upon myself—during my assignment as a Chaplain Recruiter for the Northeast Station in Columbia, Maryland—to design and build the first fully dedicated chaplaincy recruiting website.

The Northeast Chaplaincy Recruiting Website became my first major public‑facing design project, evolving from an initial station brand concept into a complete digital platform built to serve Soldiers, civilians, cadets, and faith leaders across the region. Over the course of two months, I developed a responsive, multi‑page resource that delivers accurate information, clear pathways to ministry, and direct access to recruiters, all wrapped in a visual identity tailored for professionalism, clarity, and spiritual representation.

Overview

The Northeast Chaplaincy Recruiting Website was created to provide a unified, accessible, and mission‑focused digital identity for the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps—something that had never existed before. This project consolidates essential chaplaincy information into one place: qualifications, lifestyle expectations, benefits, financial details, medical categories, and denominational requirements. It also introduces new resources not found anywhere else, including guidance for special faith groups such as Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Hinduism, along with curated links to endorsing agencies and influential leaders across multiple denominations.

The design system incorporates a full branding suite originally developed for the Northeast Station, including the Holy Savages identity, and expands it into a complete web experience. The site features responsive layouts for all devices, a contact page that connects directly to recruiting stations, a testimonial page, historical background on the Chaplain Corps, and structured pathways for civilians and cadets seeking ministry fulfillment.

This project represents a potential milestone: if approved and adopted by the Army, it could become the first official website dedicated exclusively to chaplaincy recruiting—setting a new standard for how future chaplains discover their calling and connect with the Corps.
